People I love

So the weekend I was back in Singapore, Matt and I managed to surprise Sue successfully at her wedding in St. Andrews Cathedral. It was really nice to be able to see Lena and Jon again and say haiii to my ‘daddy’ Noel (I was his ‘son’ back in poly days when I looked absolutely like a boy).

Before the wedding, I caught up with my dear pal Karen, who spat her food onto my pretty perfect-for-church-wedding dress when we had lunch (kway chup, wanton noodles, dumplings soup and iced homemade barley drinks for S$13. Mmmm…) together. Well, I was then forced (I swear I was!) to buy a not-so-perfect-for-church-wedding-but-perfect-for-everyday dress from Black Market at Jalan Pisang when she was there for a short meeting with the owners. Then, to spruce up the not-so-church-wedding dress, I had to buy a rather neat Vice & Vanity necklace. I mean, I had to!

Then off to the wedding I went and it was good being able to catch up with Lena during the waiting time. It was way cool to see Sue’s expression when she saw Matt and me while she walked down the aisle. Whee! Successful surprise!

She later told me the first thing she told Renyi (the groom) when she reached him at the end of the aisle was: “Did you see Matt and Yi Lian?!” Wah! Super honoured yet embarrassed cos that shouldn’t be the first thing you say to your husband just before you exchange your vows, no?

And speaking of Sues, my molely is coming tomorrow to HK to bring me some sunshine! Literally. The past week in HK has been unusually cold (10 to 15 degree Celsius) for this time of the year and when I told her about it, she kept whinging about how terrified she is of the cold, yaddah yaddah yaddah. But is she lucky or what! From tomorrow onwards, it’ll be all sun till the weekend at an average of 15 to 18 degree Celsius and next week, albeit the cloudy sky, will be 20 to 23 degree Celsius. How odd is the weather!

Meanwhile, Matt and I have finally decided and booked our ticket for our Christmas holiday! 7 nights in Bali! Butttt, haven’t booked accommodation yet. How last minute are we!

And don’t you mention about the Bali curse! I don’t wanna hear about it!!! Matt had to comfort me when I became all paranoid about it after my (stupid) dear Ray reminded me of the curse ! But anyhow! Yayy, one more month to Singapore and then Bali a couple days after!

And just cos I was on the topic of the people I love…

Joel and me when he was in HK last month. (Do ignore the pile of mags...)

And my cutesy little ones. :)

And oh, guess what? I got into a shouting match with a stupid ang moh at the Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station last night. He called me a “stupid bitch” and I yelled “bald asshole” back. Yes, how civilised. O_o

What caused the commotion with baldy ang moh? I bet he thought you did not understand English?

Love yr blog. Read it for yr travelogue, fashion spread esplly when you go abroad & snap photos of window displays.

Hope its kept open. Perhaps for those who do not want their photos on it, just censor it out & give them pseudonymns.

But its all up to you whichever way you want it as you do own this blog.

Ah well! Partly my fault. I was standing in the middle of the escalator (it’s HK culture to stand on the right if you intend to stay put on the step). But he could just say “excuse me” or “sorry” instead of shoving me! And it was my natural reaction to say the f-word when I got shocked so that stupid ang moh became angry and confronted me about what I just said about him, yaddah yaddah yaddah.

Thanks for your comments anyway. :)

No worries about the Bali curse….I was at Bali with my SO in June (it was a VERY new relationship then), and we had an amazing time. We did have a little problem when we returned (over his ex), I confronted him in tears and I thought the curse was coming true…..but you know what, I think he’s just proven to be more devoted to me than ever lately. Not in a gushy romantic sort of way (in fact, gone are the chocs and flowers haha), but in let-me-take-care-of-you ways (e.g. dishing me the first servings of food and calling me to ask me if I need a ride home).

And back to the curse, sometimes it’s a very self-fulfilling curse….but when you work hard at trying to make a relationship work well, at making the other feel loved (and that includes speaking their love lang) and communicating openly, no curse would ever break your relationship…so have an awesome trip to Bali :)
