The last thing I should do is updating my blog but ah well, I’ve been extremely isolated the past few weeks and I need to ‘talk’! All these work trips are taking a toil on me physically and socially. I’m trying so hard to fight against an upcoming flu with all these sniffles, itchy throat and hot-ish forehead but the mind is strong! So hopefully, I get to go to work tomorrow. (Yes, today is a public holiday in HK. Hate me!!! Kakaka)
But I really needed this day off. Returned from Shanghai last night and towards the end of the trip, my throat was killing me and migraines are making a revisit lately when the last time I had them was probably seven years ago! Must be the 16-hour work days…
And I needed to update here cos the thing about business trips is that you feel very cut off socially. My sorta work trips, that is. You meet loads of people but it’s all business talk. And you return to another hotel room (albeit that they are nice rooms) and yesterday morning, I woke up in my hotel room in Shanghai and it took me a couple of seconds to remember that I was still in Shanghai and the same thing happened this morning in my bed in Hong Kong.
And just a week ago I was in Taipei and the week before Singapore? I enjoy the occasional work trips but this back-to-back thing? All I can say is: Phew! It’s over (for now)!
So yes, I wanna be all well and dandy cos you know what, I’m desperate for some human contact tomorrow in the office and that I have loads to catch up on.
Back to the oranges, strawberries, vitamin C, garlic pills, water and raw garlic. Yes, raw garlic. Yum.
