Saraid, Matt and I went to Lamma Island just cos we didn’t know where else to go but it was a really quaint little island! We went on Boxing Day so it was really crowded. There was nothing much to do on Lamma Island except eat seafood and hike so we did the latter.

After a short trek, Matt went rock throwing while I was thankful I could sit down for a rest. Then we chilled at a cafe near the ferry which serves like the best vegetarian samosa ever! Damn shiok.
We then squeezed with 247 other passengers to get on the twice-hourly ferry. Gawd, it was freezing on the ferry. Even Matt had to succumb to putting my cashmere scarf around his head.

Lamma Island was super chilled but there’s something about that little island that’s just so charming.
The next day we headed to Macau mainly so I could validate my HK work visa. But bloody hell, I didn’t know I was supposed to tell the immigration officer when I came back to HK that he needs to chop that special chop on my visa. In the end, on my passport, I was just another tourist who went to Macau and out. Damn.
I only knew about that when I tried to go on the express queue for HK residents and ID holders when I was rushing for my flight back to SG on NYE.
Anyhow, Macau’s weather was TERRIBLE! OMG. I think I’ll die within a week of staying there. Granted, the Portuguese egg tarts were seriously damn good but I could find equally good ones in my neighbourhood.

I didn’t bother taking that many pictures cos the weather made faraway shots looked like crap anyway. :(
We did the touristy thing by checking out The Sacred Ruins of Saint Paul’s Church:

And after that, Saraid and Matt went to check out a fortress just next to the ruins while I sat on a bench, worn my sunnies and slept upright. I was soooo exhausted cos I slept just an hour the night before. I was feeling the fever coming down already but already bought the ferry tickets to Macau and had to get my visa stamped (but so much for that), so no choice. :(
By the time we were done at the sacred ruins, it was 5pm then and our ticket back to HK was 10.30pm and I just couldn’t bear with the thought of another five hours. I managed to sleep quite well sitting upright. I put on my sunnies so passer-bys wouldn’t know I was snoozing and attempt to steal my belongings.
We got to The Venetian at 6pm and bought last-min tickets to watch Cirque du Soleil’s Zaia, which had a 25% discount for last-min ticket purchases. We then grabbed a quick (but expensive!) dinner before heading to the show.

Matt and I returned to HK feeling worse, no thanks to Macau’s weather. I sent Matt off the next morning at 9am, went home by 11:30am and slept all the way till 5pm.
Posts of SG to come but I loaned Matt my Canon digicam (cos I got a better deal. hee. More on that later too.) and forgot to take my SD card out. Hopefully the boy would email me my pics like he said he would!
