Frivolous stuff
I’m not sure whether these new Havaianas designs will be available in SG but they’re launching them, alongside two other designs, exclusively in HK at Lane Crawford and they’re so pretty!
I’m completely loving the swirly one. Meanwhile, look what I’ve got!
I finally have something from Jo Malone!
Next update will be from Bangkok, where I’ll be from the 5th to 7th for a regional company conference. Massage every night please!!!
And then back home to SG from the 7th to 11th! :)
My Irregular Choice boots
A couple of days before I left for Hong Kong in August, I made myself pop by Fiona’s store at Boat Quay called Surrealist Love Scene (SLS). I know for a while then that she brings in the British footwear label Irregular Choice, had seen the designs featured in magazines and also witnessed how Daph was happily showing off her pair which she got from Fi. However, I never had the chance to go by her place and when push came to shove, I just had to go!
I’m, compared to your average woman, an extremely fast shopper. But at SLS, I was spoilt for choices and took much longer than I would normally. I was tempted to buy the shoes according to their soles and shoe boxes! You have to check out all the soles and shoe boxes. They have quirky illustrations and the cutest shoe boxes. I liked this mint-green unicorn one but I didn’t want the shoe design. So ah well, I decided to be practical and bought what I got:

It’s reminiscent of cowboy boots but the design is more contemporary and easy to match. They’re bloody comfy and I’m loving the red soles with an illustration of a girl and my favourite part is the nursery rhyme that went with the drawing. Neat!

So I was filling out the leave form for my two days of annual leave that I’ll be back in Singapore for when I noticed the sick leave options had:
Coming from Singapore and Singaporean companies, can you really take sick leave based on anxiety and depression???!
Jolene in HK
I got a text from Jolene a week ago, informing me she would be in HK on 29th and 30th Nov and thankfully, my trip in Shanghai ended on the 28th so I managed to catch her for dinner the next night I returned.
She wanted Sweet Dynasty, which I hadn’t been to yet, so I happily comply. She always used to eat like a mouse and eating with her was never that fun cos of that but gosh, I had to eat my words that day. She ate at least double of what I had. But in all fairness, I had been having a really bad appetite for the past few weeks. All the travelling seemed to wreak havoc to my stomach. I either are too much at weird hours or didn’t eat at all for many hours.
We ordered SIX dishes to share between the two of us. I was realistic and knew we couldn’t manage but that girl was greedy and wanted all. Oh, six dishes, not inclusive of dessert.
Was supposed to meet her again the next day but she fell ill so she rested in while I just stayed in the office. Hope she could make her way here again. The last time we met up was approximately 15 months ago and it was nice to pick up where we left off. Hmmm, friendships. :)
