Oh no, oh no, oh no!

I’m going tomorrow lunchtime and then grab lunch at my fave sushi place next to Times Square! Woot!

Time for bed

But just a little update. I’m almost desperate for a little update cos bcos of my flu and the fact that I’m in HK, I felt so detached from the world, it’s almost too weird.

I was happy to see Chiang and Yvonne for a little over an hour just now for their late dinner though. I wasn’t 100% well yet but I was just desperate for some human contact, especially my friends from SG!

I went to the hospital again this afternoon to get sick leave for today cos the doc only covered me for yesterday. St Paul’s Hospital was, gratefully, just a 5-min walk away but my enthusiasm for the afternoon (just to hospital and supermarket) was short-lived after I reached there. My doc wasn’t there till night shift so nurse asked me to come back later at night. Damnit.

So I walked another 15 minutes (10 minutes if you’re fast but I almost already died) to International supermarket at Tin Hau. By then, I was really ready to bail and just take a cab home but I was determined to “eat healthy” (as Matt kept nagging me to) so I put on my jumper and took a trolley. It’s a nice supermarket, unlike Welcome, with ambient music and few people so I quickly settled down and felt better.

After 30 minutes and S$140 later, I left the supermarket with WAY. TOO. MANY. PURCHASES. I hailed a cab right outside the supermarket and even the cabbie remarked after helping me, “You buy too much for a skinny girl!” Damn the pack of rice and US Vogue! I also bought two copies of tabloids, which I was so gleeful for. The last time I bought an issue of tabloid was… years ago?

I was so happy to read about Britney’s new body and Katie’s unhappiness with her in-laws that I actually couldn’t put it down even when I was on Skype with Matt afterwards.

On the cab ride back, I thought about the climb up the 6-floor walk-up and grimaced. I spent a total of 15 minutes in that staircase, huffing and puffing. It was torturous but thinking back, it’s quite funny. Hahahah, serve me right.

I made mushroom pasta afterwards for Larry and myself (Angel’s in Bali for work) and felt a embarrassed that it tasted only so-so after having the both of them cooked pretty sumptuous meals for me. :( I really have to brush up on my cooking. But nevertheless, I felt a teeny proud of myself of my first home-cooked meal.

The beauty of recovering from an illness is that you suddenly have an enthusiasm for everything (though I’d rather not fall ill again). I suddenly wanna cook everything, eat healthily, start exercising and not wanna stop talking. Since there’s no one I can really talk to now, I shall blog instead. From no word from me for three days, I really wanna blabber now.

My poor skin, along with my health, suffered these past four days. For FOUR days straight, I didn’t moisturise my skin AT. ALL. If you know me well enough, you’ll realise how ill I have to be in order to do that to my poor skin. I’m compensating with a face mask now but seriously, the people at SK-II really ought to make their facial sheet masks with bigger eye and mouth holes! Not everyone has pretty slitty eyes and dainty, pouty lips like the Japanese… Wonder how Cate Blanchett (SK-II’s American ambassador) fits her face in…

Ok Yi Lian, shuddup now and go to bed for work tomorrow! Can’t believe how excited I am to go to work again. Woot!
