Hoo hum afternoon

After unpacking my luggage and putting everything into the shelves and arranging my skincare products (I love doing this – very therapeutic!), replied to my emails, posted up pics and a two-hour nap, the weather was still rainy. :( And the typhoon warning hasn’t been lifted. Can’t work, can’t explore HK… Hoo hum… Will see if the warning lifts by 3:30pm, if it does, I’ll see what’s Belle up to before she leaves tonight. :(

Meanwhile, some pics from dinner last week at Broth (Bar Restaurant On The Hill). I’ve heard so much about that place for years and been wanting to go there for ages. And since my pals allowed me to pick a dinner venue, I picked Broth.

The ambience and location were really lovely. Duxton Hill is like a less populated but lovelier version of Emerald Hill. There are cobblestone pathways and nicely done up restaurants, bar and ad agencies. I was thoroughly amused at how the wait staff wore over-the-top diamante-embellished belt buckles of their names.

The food was above average but wasn’t as fabulous as I hope it to be. Matt and I shared the BBQ Italian sausage and sardine filets ($22) appetiser dish and we were less than impressed. However, our main courses of beef flank (S$36) and lamb loin (S$39) were yums. They cooked them exactly the way we requested them.

They apparently serve Australian cuisine but Matt wasn’t too sure about that. According to him, apart for a handful of dishes, he couldn’t see why it was considered Australian. And the fact the only Aussie beer they have is Crown Lager definitely didn’t impress him. Hahaha!
